The delicate, irresistible shine looks feminine and sophisticated. There are different types of silk made from various processing methods, which we would like to introduce to you here.
Crepê de chine
This is a silk fabric where a crepe twine is processed in a special weaving process. Characteristically, the Crepê de Chine has a rough or grainy surface. The material is generally dense, crease-free and opaque and elegantly hangs from a frame in a flattering style. The soft shine makes Crepê de Chine perfect for stylish looks and is often used for blouses, blazers or luxury underwear.
Unlike other silk fabrics, jersey silk is not woven but knitted. Because of the wafer-thin threads it has a light, easy and elastic structure. It's absorbent, breathable and easy to clean but also very comfortable to wear. It is a high quality fabric, that's wonderful to use for hard-wearing and long-lasting clothes. The effect is exceptional chic and falls elegantly.
It's typically a bit darker than other silk varieties. The fabric looks more natural because of the irregularities in the fibre but in the same way the matte gloss of the material looks incredibly chic. Exclusive outerwear, suits or elegant evening wear are made of wild silk and are always eye-catching.
Satin made of pure silk is stunning and beautiful to the touch. Smooth, soft and gently flowing, satin feels utterly luxurious to wear. Silk satin in any design is perfect for every temperature, so can be suited to a range of pieces in any season. No matter if blouses, summer dress or light lingerie – the soft shine inspires with its elegance!
How to look after silk
Silk is an exclusive material and it needs to be looked after. If you do it in the right way, silk will last for a long time. Be careful and gentle while cleaning your silk item. Also be careful while the silk is still wet - don't wring it out. To get it dry, roll it in a towel gently and the towel will absorb the excess water. If you need to iron it, always iron on a very low temperature, and preferably whilst it is still slightly damp. You can avoid spots and discolourations if you don't apply perfume or deodorant directly to the material. By taking care of the material, you will have long-lasting pieces that can be enjoyed time and time again.
